Physiology and Behavior encompasses a systems-level, quantitative approach to the study of the behavior of an organism and its constituent parts. As physiology is the study of the physical and chemical processes of life, we use both experimental and theoretical techniques to quantify and model the mechanisms that make life possible. Our focus is to apply quantitative analytical and modeling techniques to challenging problems that vertically integrate across organizational levels, from tissue function to organismal behavior. Organisms of interest span animals to humans, with applications to sensing in complex environments, response to stimuli and stress, robotics, and biologically-inspired design.
