Molecular composition, structure, interactions, and reactions govern the macroscopic behavior of biological systems – from microbes to metazoans. QBioS researchers at Georgia Tech are working to obtain a molecular-level understanding of biological systems. Research in this area includes biophysical chemistry, bioanalytical chemistry, biochemistry, and chemical biology applied to questions of photosynthesis, nanoscience, the evolution of life, chemical ecology, and human health. QBioS students working in these labs will be trained in a highly interdisciplinary environment that combines a classic chemistry and biochemistry curriculum with the quantitative and biological elements of the QBioS program.
