Research Interests
Our lab uses whole genome sequencing to uncover human history and discover how genetic systems evolve. This includes detecting signatures of natural selection in the genomes of African hunter-gatherers, finding evidence of sex-biased gene flow, and inferring patterns of ancient and recent admixture. An important theme of our research is the need to sequence individuals from a diverse set of global populations. Current projects include studying the dispersal of African genetic variation to the rest of the world.
