Research Interests
The brain network is marked by its uniquely robust and adaptable computation of sensory information. For example, the mammalian visual system robustly recognizes objects in natural scenes, and efficiently processes task-relevant information in noisy environments. By combing methods in theoretical neuroscience and data-driven mathematical modeling, my research focuses on understanding how such efficient neural coding emerges from complex connectivity structure and rich neural dynamics in both biological and artificial neural networks at multiple scales.
