Atanu is a computational biochemist and biophysicist working with Prof. JC Gumbart at Georgia Tech as a postdoctoral fellow in the School of Physics. He focuses on understanding biological systems like amyloids, Gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, and coronavirus. Atanu earned his Ph.D. (2016) in Chemistry from the University of Southern California, where he worked with Prof. Anna Krylov on “Photoinduced redox reactions in biologically relevant systems.” He then moved to Yale University as a postdoctoral associate (2017-2018) with Prof. Victor Batista before coming to Georgia Tech in 2019.
