Research Interests:
Collective behavior can be seen in many animal species, such as flocking birds, herding mammals, and swarming bacteria. Mathematically, in the continuum limit, these phenomena can be modeled by nonlinear partial differential equations with a nonlocal interaction term. My research focuses on understanding the long-time behavior of these models, and developing new mathematical techniques to overcome the difficulties caused by the nonlinear and nonlocal effect.
Areas of Specialization:
Collective behavior; Nonlinear dynamics; Fluid dynamics
