QBioS student Alireza Zamani was recently named as a 2019 STAMI Graduate Student Fellow.
Seyed Alireza Zamani Dahaj, third-year QBioS Ph.D. student, was recently awarded a $5000 fellowship from The Center for the Science and Technology of Advanced Materials and Interfaces (STAMI). In addition to this supplemental funding, fellowships recipients gain access to the STAMI network, get to meet peers from other campus units, and are encouraged to participate in various STAMI activities, including the Distinguished Lecture Seminar Series and the Industry Partner’s Day.
Alireza is co-advised by Professor Peter Yunker (Schools of Physics) and Professor William Ratcliff (School of Biological Sciences). His thesis proposal was entitled, “Heritability and Superflake Yeasts: Two Steps in the Transitions to Multicellularity."
